Don Pasquale at the Vienna Staatsoper

Don Pasquale by Gaetano Donizetti with text by Giovanni Ruffini, is one of the most famous comedies (opera bufa). 

The subject could be considered as a timeless one, about an ageing bachelor intending to preserve his youth by marriage to a very young woman. 

But the events do not go the way he planned. 

Director Irina Brooks gives this opera a more contemporary approach.
